The Full Story
In 1972 Pricilla Crocket, a former Conroe Golden Girl, formed the Willis High School Sweethearts. She presented the idea to the school board and was given permission for the Sweethearts to dance at football half time shows, all basketball games and to be part of the Homecoming parade as long as she could find a teacher sponsor. They presented their first self-choreographed flag routine at the Coldspring-Willis game fall of 1972. They were fully self-funded holding bake sales throughout the year and a dance to raise money. The Sweethearts were given patterns and had to sew their own uniforms, in the iconic Willis purple and white.

Purpose
The purpose of the Sweethearts Dance Team is to encourage quality performance, high academic standards, loyal school spirit, and high personal values among its members.
Through the development of dance technique, leadership, cooperation, self-discipline, and sportsmanship in each individual member, the Sweetheart Dance Team will fulfill its purpose for the benefit of Willis High School and the community of Willis Independent School District.
